African Big Cats
Kenya will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first proper photography based trip. Being able to stay at two different safari camps for five week each allowed me to really submerse myself into the environment. This resulted in a somewhat un-diverse portfolio yet I am still happy with a few of the images.
There is one memory that stands out from the rest, the day of the leopard. One morning we saw a mass of vultures flying above a wooded area, so we went to investigate. To our surprise there was a dead zebra that had been killed the night before just lying within a clearing. We waited for a moment, hoping something would appear, we never expected to see what we did. Out of the bushes emerged a large, old male leopard, who had clearly been feeding on it the night before as his belly was bulging.
